Joyful sweeper

So here’s what my Sunday afternoon looked like today….
The water tank was getting low and since I had some free time, I went and pumped for about 45 minutes. The pump is by foot power so I just pretended I was working out on a stairstepper. I was joined by a young girl who decided she needed to keep me company all afternoon. She collected the runoff water and then went behind my house and took a bath. Then as I sat to relax, she entertained herself by sweeping the porch with a broom that consists of about 40 broom straws tied together with a tiny piece of fabric. She tried to tell me that I need to go buy a new broom as this one had lost a lot of straws. Humming to herself, she turned the ‘broom’ upside down and used the thicker ends to sweep the forest floor in front of my house. I was amazed, how many 10 year olds do you know would willingly sweep the dirt and sing while doing it. She was an inspiration. I actually look forward to sweeping tomorrow because she made it look so fun.

  • Yeah for your venture into techno world. I can just see you sweeping away tomorrow. My dollar store broom worked very well tonight on my back porch where the lawn mower people knocked over my plants and dumped soil everywhere. By the way, I have purple and yellow pansies and some burgundy mums. Thought of you and my last season planting venture.
